Truth is all around us if we really see....but, we see what we want to see and we are all emotional creatures...so we tend to go overboard with our emotions...and maybe cannot open our eyes to truth.
This small compact piece is powerful Padmavani. It would appear you specialise in this type of condensed brilliance, that like a seed has within it the potential for mighty fruit. It's all in there just waiting to be unleashed into the human heart, each one with its own complexities and experience. Wonderful.
Appreciate you sharing your thoughts Janu. Of course there is truth, but the moment you look at it.. what you see is what you perceive. And it not just emotion, it is knowledge, experience, intuition, belief system, principles, culture, possibly genetics, and so much more. You see all of us carry an incredible baggage from the moment we are conceived, that really we can only see try and fathom out what the truth is..if we care. And even then we will arrive only our derivation of the truth. And you will find your twin sibling will not agree with your version. That is what this piece of writing is about. Longish explanation:)
I love the line -- and underlying metaphor -- 'truth cleaved into countless truths' -- which seems encompass the heart of the poem. And yet, for some reason, I keep hearing it as 'truth cleaves into countless truths' . . .
i too believe there is no truth truer than me. it is all that i seek through my sensibility, i explore through my spirituality, i open up to eternity, truth infuses in me.
Wonderful poem. I think as well that among us humans there are many truths, depending on perspectives. We each think we know the truth, but do we? We each see with different eyes, hear with different ears. Only God knows for sure what really IS true.
nice...and in many ways we each have our own true as perceived by our eyes...truth becomes subjective that way...there are some over arching truths though...
That is a very beautiful poem. Truer words never spoken. Thank you for linking my Breast Cancer Awareness post button on your blog. I am honored. If you'd like there is an updated one on my sidebar now. I was trying to figure out the best way to do it but, I was exhausted and finally finished it last night.
Your understanding regarding the truth really really inspires me a lot and it gives me a very positive image of the way you think...Lovely collection of words..!!

ReplyDeleteYou have captured in verse the essence of postmodern thought. Well done!
ReplyDeleteI like the clever play on words of truth.. as you say, it depends on where you are standing from... a paradigm as some would say.
