she sits in the corner
sipping her morning tea
anticipating her sunrise
a match striking in the shadows
her heart quickens at
his face lighted by the warm flame
with a flick of his wrist
it is dark again
she leans back and waits
for the familiar smell to reach her
inhales, picks up her mug
and calls out "tea?"

P.S. If you are not an adult and are reading this, please note SMOKING IS INJURIOUS TO HEALTH. This is a poetic description of a situation and not an attempt to romanticise smoking. Cancer is not romantic. Thank you.
Delightful! This small poem captures one within a tight grasp; it's the flame and the flick of the wrist, the male/female. Awesomely crafted.
