we must
so with eyes steady
with purposeful strides
we blaze through this maze
we must
so in time we will find us at the exit
clutching our possession portfolios
eyes unaccustomed to the light
we must
so until then
let's all pretend
we know where we are going

I loved the last part especially. "Until then, let's all pretend..." You saw this photo and saw a journey. Great job.
ReplyDeleteLove this, especially the last stanza. Beautiful imagery.
ReplyDeleteThere is a great deal of pretense in life. Really enjoyed this piece.
ReplyDeleteSioux, Reflection and Tumblewords,
ReplyDeleteWhen three incredibly talented women such as yourselves (I have read your blog posts)leave a compliment behind, I feel humble and elated.
Thank you!
To pretend is to know oneself.
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful!! That was very well said Padmavani!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing Pessoa; it was a good thought for the day (an hour of it atleast) :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Vidya! I am still feeling happy that you read and commented on 'till death do us part'
That's exactly what you tend to do when you're a bit lost - pretend you know where you're going :)
ReplyDeleteWonderful words written with such depth and awesome thoughts.

Thanks for dropping by Sue :) your poem made me laugh! Very cool...
ReplyDeleteGautami, you write very intensely, I have read quite a few of your poems.
Keep visiting both! Thanks again.
Delightful! Especially this: 'Let's all pretend/ we know where where we're going'. Makes me reflect on the saying, I think and feel, therefore I am.
ReplyDeleteOh.. I liked the blunt honesty here!! Brilliant!!
ReplyDeleteThe tone was intense and so very reflective...
Really liked this take on the Mag!
