familiar maze
of ear
goose bumps
scatter like
poppy seeds
veins flutter
butterfly wings
inside elbow
fevered thrusts
like oceans
on full-moon
urgent lips
wet, pliant
potter's clay
bodies bow
like milk
rises overflows
sated limbs
quiver from
residual heat

Victoria Ceretto-Slotto discusses texture as a writing tool in Poetics at www.dversepoets.com I tried my hand on it and this is the result. Do let me know what you think. Thank you!

beautiful poem, really felt it, "familiar maze of ear" - love this
ReplyDeleteThe title is so....erotic, just like the poem. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteLovely and very sharply painted images make this both sensuous and mentally agile. The textures are strong and vivid as well, especially in the last few tercets. Really enjoyed it.
ReplyDeleteYou have completely captured 'textures' in and throughout this wonderful piece. My favourite part is the second stanza: goose bumps scatter like poppy seeds. Beautiful! Well done Padmavani, I find it impossible to write on cue, but you have done it perfectly here.
ReplyDeleteoh nice textures for sure...poppy seeds and butterfly wings...both of those were great touches...
ReplyDeletepliant

wonderful textural lines among many, thank you!
Sensuous and much to the point of being steamy. It captures the feel of the young at heart in their special relationships. Beautiful poem!
ReplyDeleteSensuous, tender textures tantalizing the soul.
